Science Week: Science at the Marina Market
15 Nov 2025Venue Marina Market, Cork City
Science Week takes place from Sunday, 9th – 16th November. Science Week at Teagasc is an educational, inspiring and fun week, packed full of amazing science activities for children and grown-ups alike. Find out more about Science Week at Teagasc here
Back for it’s third year on Saturday, 15th November from 11am – 4pm, Science at the Marina 2025 is taking science out of the lab and into Cork’s Marina Market, creating a playful, hands-on space for families.
This year we have new elements alongside what already works. Our dedicated Sensory Hour is now supported by a sensory van, giving children a safe and calm way to explore science.
From Supermarket Sweep – Science Style, an escape-room game from London that helps kids learn about nutrition and healthy choices. The Butter Museum will be running a butter-making workshop, linking food traditions of the past with the science of today. Our artist-in-residence will invite families to explore the rich biodiversity surrounding the hazel tree through creative, hands-on workshops, celebrating the web of life it supports, from insects and birds to fungi, plants, and people. In short, we are weaving together history, daily life, and future possibilities, making science inclusive, relevant, and inspiring for everyone.
