Farmers all over the country are currently participating in beef data genomics programme which aims to increase the genetic merit of the Irish suckler herd for key traits linked to maternal efficiency and environmental sustainability. Teagasc are providing training, on behalf of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, for farmers participating in the scheme. These videos are part of the course material used, outline a number of case studies and give an insight into how the use of genomics can improve the herd.
