IT Carlow

All scientific sessions will take place on the main campus of IT Carlow, which is only a short walk to Carlow town centre. Parking will be available to attendees and details can be found Parking at Institute of Technology Carlow.

enviroCORE, the Environmental Centre of Research and Enterprise (CORE) based at the Institute of Technology Carlow campus, has been working to provide solutions to environmental challenges for over 25 years.  Our researchers focus on a wide range of areas including bioremediation, phytotechnology, ecology, biodiversity, soil health, sustainable agriculture, biomass production, environmental monitoring and sensor development.  Recent highlights include ESAI postgraduate of the year, Dr. Christopher Finnegan, the Alltech Global Young Scientist of the year, Dr. Richard Lally, the Horizon 2020 Greener project, the Interreg ReNu2Farm project, as well as global spin out company, MicroGen biotech.

Teagasc

On the afternoon of the 26th June, attendees will be invited to Oak Park to attend the Crops Research Open Day. Transport to and from the event will be provided. The Teagasc Crops Research Centre at Oak Park is situated on 225 hectares and is focussed on research in crop agronomy and sustainable production systems, crop improvement and biotechnology, and energy crops and bio-processing.
