Marteloscope Forest Management Workshops
Our upcoming "marteloscope" forest management workshops allow forest owners and other interested landowners to learn more about sustainable, multifunctional forest management.

These workshops adopt a facilitation-style format and encourage participants to learn by doing, leading to group discussions and valuable peer-to-peer learning. The main aims of these workshops are:
- to consider different forest management scenarios
- to practise the key skill of selecting trees by their quality, vigour and biodiversity value
- to demonstrate in practice how management can help integrate production with biodiversity and other important services that forests can provide

- I am interested in the multipurpose value of my forest
- I want to learn more about a range of management systems from clearfell to continuous cover forest management
- I want to understand the thinning process and learn how to select trees by their quality, vigour and biodiversity value
- I want to meet other forest owners, share my experiences and hear from others
Workshop details

All courses are free, but prior registration is necessary, as each course will be limited to 20 participants. - Duration.
Each workshop will be one day in duration (from 10 am to 4 pm) and involve practical exercises in a range of forest types. - Location.
These workshops will take place in our new in-forest training facility installed in Teagasc Oak Park Research Centre, Co. Carlow. You will be informed of the meeting point upon registration. - Practicalities.
The entire workshop will be outdoors so please bring with you suitable outdoor clothing and a packed lunch.
