Agricultural education and continuous professional development have a crucial role in enabling future farmers to keep pace with technological and policy change. The challenge for Teagasc education is to provide the education pathways, curriculum content, pedagogical approaches and continuous up-skilling opportunities that the land sector will require. The Teagasc Education Vision project was conducted between March 2016 and March 2017 and was chaired by Professor Seamus Smyth. It involved extensive consultation with stakeholders, a review of relevant national and international reports and an appraisal of peer agricultural education systems in a number of EU countries.
