Behaviours for Safer Farming – BeSafe
The AgILe Lab co-designed interventions with Irish farmers and stakeholders for the BeSafe project using a participatory learning and action (PLA) approach to identify hazards, risks and practical actions to improve farm safety on Irish farms.
Following multi-disciplinary exploratory research conducted by diverse scientists in the BeSafe consortium, iterative co-design workshops involving scientists, farmers, advisors, and safety specialists were held.
The co-design process developed practical farm safety tools, which were deployed to and tested by farmers via Teagasc advisors. A central participating team of farmers were the Mayo Organic Knowledge Transfer Group, led by Teagasc advisor John Noonan.
