Sustainable Livestock Systems, Transition and Evidence Platform for Upgrading Policies (STEP UP) is a Horizon Europe project.
Teagasc is leading the co-design of a data dashboard involving farmers, data providers, diverse disciplinary scientists, policy-makers and industry experts, to support policy and practice decisions to improve the sustainability of European Livestock Production Systems (ELPS).
Co-development of the data dashboard requires transdisciplinary harmonisation, across diverse fields such as Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) and Safe and Just Operating Space (SJOS). User-friendliness of the dashboard depends on co-design involving the eventual end-users of the dashboard.
Generating the data for inclusion in the dashboard, we are grounding experimentation of indicators, metrics and their comprehensiveness in obtaining accurate and holistic views of sustainability in real life farm contexts – 20 Innovative Livestock Production Systems (ILPS) across Europe.
