John Donlon
John graduated with a Veterinary Medicine degree from University College Dublin in 2018. Following his veterinary education, he pursued a PhD and a European College of Bovine Health residency at the same institution. His doctoral research centred on the study of dairy calf pneumonia and its relationship to housing environments. Prior to his research endeavours, he acquired practical experience in farm animal practice in South West Wales, during his PhD he continued to work part time in clinical practice in his home county of Clare. In 2023, John joined Teagasc as a Beef Herd Health Research Officer. His research interests encompass summer scour syndrome, dairy beef calf health especially preweaning, and dystocia in suckler cows.
