National Prepared Consumer Food Centre
The National Prepared Consumer Food Centre is a state of the art food research and development centre established to support innovation and accelerate the development of new products and processes within the food sector. The Centre contains state of the art pilot-scale processing equipment including drying, extrusion, packaging and advanced processing technologies. It also incorporates analytical and sensory laboratories to determine the nutritional, compositional, microbial and sensory profiles of food products.
National Centre for Brewing and Distilling
The National Centre for Brewing and Distilling at Teagasc Oak Park in Carlow is an integrated pilot‑scale hub for malting, brewing, distilling and dealcoholisation. The Centre provides producers with a complete pilot‑scale capability for product development, process optimisation and workforce development. Our team work with producers to co‑design trials, troubleshoot process bottlenecks and implement sustainability improvements.
