Ireland’s Prepared Consumer Food (PCF) Sector has made significant strides in recent years. The sector has continued to show its resilience and strengthened the quality of its food and drink offering.

This new Strategy has been developed to continue growth and enhance the PCF Sector through excellent science, supporting product development, research, testing and analysis.

Whilst performance of the Irish PCF sector food has improved, much work remains to be done in the years ahead, navigating the complex challenges that face the PCF sector. The NPCFC has a significant role to play in the development of safe, nutritious and flavoursome foods in-line with European Union and National Strategies, such as Food Vision 2030.

The strategy sets out the key tasks that will deliver on the ambitions for the years ahead. Whilst a 5-year perspective is being taken, interim milestones and key performance indicators will be set to ensure that the strategy is being implemented and adapted as appropriate in the years ahead.
