National Bioeconomy Week 2025 takes place from October 13th to 19th 2025.

Shared Island Webinar –  AIMBIO & Regenerate Projects

Online Webinar: Thursday, 16th October from 2 pm to 3 pm

This webinar will showcase two ground-breaking research projects to drive bio-based innovation across the island: REGENERATE and AIMBIO. Each backed by €4.5 million funding from the Government of Ireland’s Shared Island Fund, and co-funding from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs in Northern Ireland.

AIMBIO is All Island Marine Bio-based Refineries for Circular Blue-Bioeconomy. This project focuses on transforming marine by-products from aquaculture, fisheries, and processing into high-value ingredients for food, feed, cosmetics, and bio-based chemicals.

An in-person event at the Teagasc animal and grassland, research and innovation centre, Grange, County Meath on Thursday, 16 October from 9.30 am to 4pm.

Sea the Future: Blue Bioeconomy for Growth Workshop

This workshop is organised by Donegal County Council and Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM) as part of Bioeconomy Week Ireland 2025. Teagasc involvement will include contributions byy Mark Fenlon, Brijesh Tiwari, and Shay Hannon. It takes place on Monday 20th October in Killybegs, County Donegal.
