AgNav

AgNav is a free digital sustainability platform available to all farmers, which can be used to assess a farm’s performance on key sustainability metrics:

• Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
• Ammonia emissions
• Production
• Nutrient balance
• Soil carbon

AgNav can be used to identify management changes that will help improve a farm’s sustainability. Whilst the platform is mainly targeted at climate change mitigation, many of the actions that can be taken to reduce emissions will also contribute to reducing nutrient losses to waterbodies. These actions can be combined in a bespoke sustainability plan for each farm which can therefore help mitigate both air and water pollution, while ensuring productivity and economic viability. PastureBase Ireland

PastureBase Ireland is a digital tool designed to help dairy, beef and sheep farmers manage their grass utilisation. It provides daily updates on grass growth across the country, so that farmers can match their nitrogen inputs to the grass demands. This helps farmers achieve better Nutrient Use Efficiencies (NUE) in their farms, therefore reducing the risk of nitrogen losses to waterbodies, whilst positively impacting on profit.
