Terms and Conditions

  • The competition is open to applicants farming in the Republic of Ireland.
  • Shortlisting will be based on the information submitted on the application form and from additional information from the ICBF, DAFM, Bord Bia, AgNav and Teagasc systems. Applicant’s permission is required. All applicants will be required to grant Teagasc and the Awards judges’ access to required data on the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine, Bord Bia, ICBF and AgNav databases relating to their farm. Only the minimum amount of personal data necessary will be collected and it will be stored for the minimum period of time required.
  • All information gathered will only be used for the purposes of the Teagasc / FBD Environmental Sustainability Awards 2025, and will be stored securely by Teagasc. Your personal data will only be shared with the Awards’ partners for the purposes of the Awards.

  • Shortlisted applicants will be required to host a visit by the judging panel. In addition, shortlisted applicants will be required to facilitate the production of a video highlighting the actions the farmer is taking to improve their environmental sustainability on their farm. The shortlisted farmer will be interviewed as part of the video recording. 
  • All shortlisted applicants are expected to participate in the Awards ceremony.
  • Entrants must be willing to provide evidence to support their application.
  • The judges’ decisions in all aspects of the competition are final.
  • In the event of winning, the winning farmers are obliged to allow and participate in reasonable media coverage following the Awards ceremony.
  • The overall winner will be required to host an Open Day on their farms, and participate in relevant promotional activity including videos, imagery from the farm etc.
  • Other Award winners may be invited to host a farm walk in 2026.
  • All Awards winners in the 2025 Awards may not enter the Awards again in 2026 or subsequent years.
