Water Quality – assessing nutrient loss to surface and groundwater for the identification of abatement strategies.
Soil Analysis, nutrient efficiency and land drainage at farm level.
Current Projects
I am responsible for the day to day management of the Water laboratory at Johnstown Castle. Water samples are analysed in the lab by discrete colorimetric analysis, ICP and oxidative digestion methods.
Other tasks include:
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments
- Training of students and other lab users
- Health and Safety duties
