Hui Xing

Lecturer

Research Interests

Hui’s research interests are in the areas of plant species diversity, plant physiology, dendro-ecology and plant-environmental interactions. Hui is particularly interested in conifer tree species, their ecology and evolution, their role in ecosystem services as key forest tree species.

Current Projects

Hui’s PhD study was part of the Fit Forests Project to assess the climate change resilience of forest tree species in Ireland. The focus of Hui’s PhD study was to investigate the growth performance and physiological process of Sitka spruce to historical drought events on gley soils in Ireland.
