“So ewe want to know more about sheep”

Secondary school students are invited to Teagasc Athenry (Mellows Campus) to get an insight into on-going research on an extensive sheep farm. During this visit students will learn about animal science, sheep breeds, grassland and environmental management and so much more.

📅 13th Nov – Farm Walk at Teagasc Grange

Beef up your knowledge on Irish cattle farming

Description: Secondary school students and their teachers are invited to Teagasc Grange to learn about Irish cattle farming. This event will be ideal for Leaving Certificate Ag Science students, as well as other students just generally interested in learning more about cattle farming in Ireland and science in general! Come along on the day to learn here about the fantastic research ongoing at Grange and learn about a variety of things including grassland management, animal health and welfare, genetics, animal nutrition and sustainability. Also, attendees on the day will have the opportunity to chat with some of the brilliant post-graduate (PhD and Masters) students currently carrying out their research at Grange, and ask them about their research and career path to date. A brilliant day awaits and we look forward to welcoming you to Teagasc Grange!
