  • Shay is farming outside New Ross in Co. Wexford. Shay farms 97 Ha.
  • Shay is currently milking an average of 180 cows & has 45 replacement heifers.
  • This year he went with the PPI grass Nashota and 1.5kgs white clover seed.

    As stocking rate on the milking platform is 3.91 cows/ha (2.73 cows/ha when 19.4 ha of zero grazed ground is included) cover is under pressure and Shay is planning on a 37 day round of 5 kg of meal, 5 kg of zero grazed grass and 10 kg of grass for next 10 days

    Feeding 5 kg of meal, 5 kg dm of zero grazing and 10 kg dm of grass to maintain a 37 day round at present
