A live webinar took place on Wednesday, 20 March, which was aimed at providing an insight into the new land-based apprenticeships recently launched by Teagasc, in partnership with SOLAS. The webinar provided valuable insights into the diverse opportunities awaiting in agriculture and horticulture.
Topics discussed on the webinar included:
- The application process and the extensive benefits of pursuing an apprenticeship
- The benefits of pursuing an apprenticeship with Teagasc and your career options afterwards
- Three current apprentices and their employers shared their personal journeys and learning experiences.

Teagasc live streamed a webinar into schools on Tuesday, 21 February where over 3,000 students from schools across the country tuned to hear about the diverse career opportunities in the land based sector!
The webinar hosted by Ellen Doherty, student of Kildalton College featured past and current students along with members of including Anne Marie Butler, Head of Education and Karen O’Connell, Assistant Principal of Clonakilty College who gave an overview of studying with Teagasc.
Viewers heard about our upcoming college open days and got a glimpse into the latest technologies/machinery along with the facilities on offer.
