Hedge Cutting for Healthy Hedges

National Hedgerow Week is a partnership between Teagasc and the Heritage Council. The week aims to raise awareness of the importance of hedges for agriculture, biodiversity and climate. Events are free to attend and are open to all. The events scheduled for the week are organised by Teagasc, Heritage and Biodiversity Officers in Local Authorities and others. All events are suitable for farmers, contractors and others.

Hedgerow Week 2025 will officially launch with a live webinar outlining a new hedge cutting strategy for farmers. The webinar will feature guest speakers Meadhbh Bolger, Heritage Council & Dr. Catherine Keena, Teagasc.

Join us on Thursday, 4th September at 11am for a Hedge Cutting for Contractors event in Teagasc, Kildalton College, Piltown, Co. Kilkenny, E32 YW08. The event will consist of a hedge planting and best practice management demonstration of topped hedges and treeline hedges.
