The Teagasc Forestry team have organised a series of Forest Management Walks taking place in various locations across the country.
A Forest Management Walk focusing on Agroforestry (Silvopasture) is taking place on Wednesday, 17th June at 10am in Ballymote, Co. Sligo. Meeting point: Teagasc Ballymote Advisory Office, Ballymote, Co. Sligo, F56 A585.
This agroforestry site was planted in Spring 2026 and demonstrates the important part trees can play on a farm to fulfil overall farming goals. This planted area, combined with existing trees on the farm will provide shelter and shade for animals, protect water and soil and also improves overall animal welfare. This event will cover varying planting densities, species and different methods of protecting trees.
