Forest Management Walk – Roscommon

The Teagasc Forestry team have organised a series of Forest Management Walks taking place in various locations across the country.

A Forest Management Walk focusing on the active management of young native forest and older conifer and broadleaf forest is taking place on Thursday, 18^th June at 7pm in Knockhall, Roosky, Co. Roscommon,  N41 AY66.

We will visit a young native and forest planted in 2024 and discuss species selection and early management topics. This will be followed by a visit to Sitka Spruce and Oak planted in 2012 to discuss current management topics including thinning, tending, pruning and see a recently built new forest road. Active management and involvement by the forest owner will be a central theme for the evening.
