The open day will showcase how collaboration between farmers, Teagasc advisors and industry partners can support more efficient and sustainable organic tillage and vegetable systems. The project is working to address key challenges in organic production, particularly in relation to weed control, labour efficiency and access to suitable machinery.

On the day, visitors will have the opportunity to see a range of machinery in operation across active crop trials. Demonstrations will include mechanical, precision and autonomous weed control systems, as well as crop establishment techniques across oats, maize, beet and vegetable crops.

The event will focus on practical, field-based learning, allowing attendees to observe how different systems perform under real farm conditions. Participating farmers will share their experiences of working within a machinery sharing model, alongside insights from Teagasc advisors and researchers involved in the project.

The open day will also provide an opportunity to discuss approaches to improving weed control, reducing labour requirements and increasing efficiency in organic systems. Attendees will be able to engage directly with the project team and explore how the technologies and practices demonstrated could be applied on their own farms.

This is an outdoor event, and attendees are advised to wear suitable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing.
