Reforestation Forest Walk – After one growing season

Teagasc, in association with the Northeast Forestry Group has organised a forest management walk on Thursday 8th October near Kilmainhamwood, Co. Meath starting at 11.00am sharp. This event will showcase best practices in reforestation, with an emphasis on vegetation control, Pine weevil management and funding opportunities.
On the day, you will gain practical insights and guidance on:
- Felling licences and harvesting plans
- Ground preparation and optimal species selection
- Planting techniques and ongoing maintenance
- Funding possibilities, including the Reconstitution Scheme for Windblow 2026
This management walk is an ideal opportunity for participants to plan for and envisage how to successfully re-establish their forests.
