Progress made over the past five years
The Williamson family will outline the progress made on the farm over the past five years, including changes in grassland management, grazing performance and milk solids production.

The walk will look at key grassland performance indicators including the number of walks completed, pre-grazing yields and annual tonnage grown, as well as the targets being set for the future.

Reseeding policy
A key focus of the farm walk will be the farm’s reseeding policy and how it contributes to consistent grass production and animal performance. The Williamson family will discuss their approach to clover management and grass and clover variety selection.

The practical management of a recent reseed will also be discussed. The field was sown on July 20, sprayed on August 30 and grazed for the first time on September 10.

Autumn grassland management and fodder budget
With autumn grazing now a major focus, the Williamson family will outline their autumn targets and how they are managing grass supply heading into the winter.

The farm has completed a fodder budget which will be discussed on the day, along with the practical management options and solutions being used to manage fodder reserves over the coming winter. Attendees will take away practical ideas and approaches that can be applied on their own farms to assess and manage winter fodder supplies.
