Have you submitted your red clover or multi-species sward measure claim?
The facility to submit payment claims under both the red clover silage measure and the multi-species swards measure, both operated by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, is now open.
Farmers who have successfully applied for either scheme must lodge claims for payment by September 29th, to be eligible for payment.
Under these schemes, the department will make a payment of up to €300/ha for the establishment of either a red clover silage sward or a multi-species sward to approved applicants meeting either measure’s criteria.
To be eligible for payment, both red clover and multi-species swards must have been sown by July 15th 2023, with both swards successfully established using the prescribed seeding rate and seed mixtures as outlined in the terms and conditions of both measure by September 30th, 2023.
The claims for payment, which must be uploaded on Agfood.ie before September 29th, should include the invoice(s) and one seed label per species mix/batch of seed purchased. Approved applicants should indicate the area sown at claim stage. The original seed labels and invoices must be retained on-farm and, if requested, must made available to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
The terms and conditions of both measures are available on the department’s website and can be accessed by clicking the following links: Red Clover Silage Measure and Multi-Species Sward Measure.
