Beef farmers looking to increase farm profits and reduce environmental impact are called upon to join the Teagasc Future Beef and ABP discussion group.
Discussion groups consist of local farmers who meet regularly on farms to see, discuss and learn about technologies and practices that may be applied on their own farms. Research shows that farmers in discussion groups make more money than farmers who aren’t because technologies are more rapidly adopted.
Providing an opportunity to gain one-to-one advice and mentoring from industry experts, the Future Beef ABP discussion groups, starting in Wexford and Kilkenny, before moving across all ABP group strongholds, will offers farmers the chance to see and discuss practical, on-farm solutions tested on commercial farms, along with providing access to the latest research.
If you are looking for tips to improve animal health, fertility and overall herd performance or just seeking new practices to save time, money or to farm with more efficient practices, these discussion groups might be just for you.
Suckler-to-beef or store-to-beef farmers interested in joining can contact Aideen Bates on 086-165 3501, or Eleanor Cummins on 086-816 5984 to join the group.
