Layer conference set for Cavan

Teagasc will host a Layer Conference on Thursday, April 25, from 7pm – 10pm in the Errigal Country House Hotel, Cavan Road, Errigal, Cootehill, Co. Cavan.
A number of speakers will present on the evening, covering a range of topics such as: agroforestry for poultry; worming protocols for layer flocks; considerations for designing a vaccination programme; and sustainability for layers.
The conference will be opened by Dr Stan Lalor, Director of Knowledge Transfer in Teagasc, and Rebecca Tierney, Teagasc Poultry Advisor. Other Teagasc speakers on the evening include Kevin O’Connell, who will discuss agroforestry for poultry, and Aine Regan and Sharon Sweeney will speak on the Biosecure Project.
A number of industry experts will also take to the rostrum at the event. Firstly, Ciaran Cunningham of Agrihealth will outline worming protocols for layer flocks, followed by Stephen Turner, Hendrix Genetics, who’ll cover the topic of preparation for the onset of lay.
Additionally, Jim Uprichard, Trouw Nutrition, will focus on sustainability for layer flocks, while Conor Sheehy, MSD, will outlines the considerations for designing a vaccination programme.
Along with the excellent speakers, a host of exhibitors will be present on the evening.
