New Women in Farming Group to launch
A new Women in Farming group is being launched for the Teagasc Roscommon/Longford region, creating a valuable opportunity for women involved in agriculture to come together in a supportive and engaging environment.
This new initiative aims to provide local women with a dedicated space to connect with one another, share experiences and access practical knowledge relevant to their farming enterprises. To mark the launch, an information evening will take place on Wednesday, 28 January at 7pm in the Teagasc Office, County Roscommon.
The group is open to women of all ages and farming backgrounds. Whether participants are actively farming, gradually taking on more responsibility within the farm business, returning to agriculture, or exploring new and diversified on-farm enterprises, all are welcome.
A key feature of the group is that members will have the opportunity to influence the programme of activities, ensuring it reflects the real challenges and opportunities facing women in farming today.
The group will hold regular meetings, practical workshops and expert-led discussions throughout 2026, tailored to the needs and interests of its members. The group will also act as a networking hub where members can share experiences, ask questions in a supportive setting and build confidence in areas such as farm decision-making, leadership and farm business management.
Anyone interested in joining the group or learning more is warmly invited to attend this information evening.
