Planning to reseed in 2025?

Have you earmarked paddocks for reseeding or are looking for the latest tips and advice on incorporating white clover into your grassland swards?

If your answer to the above is ‘yes’, then attending one of the upcoming Teagasc Reseeding events may be of interest to you.

Taking place during April and into early May, the Teagasc Grass10 team, in conjunction with Clover150 and the Teagasc Knowledge Transfer team, has organised a series of grass reseeding events nationwide.

Stretching to 11 locations, these reseeding events will focus on seedbed preparation and post sowing management, choosing grass and clover varieties, along with running the most suitable summer stocking rate to enable reseeding. Additionally, the events will feature machinery and over-sowing demonstrations.

Ahead of the events and highlighting some of the benefits from reseeding, Head of the Teagasc Grass10 Campaign, John Maher explained: “Reseeding will increase the overall productivity of the farm. It will allow higher animal output per hectare relative to permanent pasture. Producers are also using the reseeding operation to establish uniform clover swards. I would encourage all farmers to come along to one of these grass reseeding events to get the latest and most up to date information.”
