Teagasc locations to host Agri Aware’s Farm Walk & Talk events

Marking its return for 2026, Agri Aware’s Farm Walk and Talk Series will commence on February 24 and run to March 13, visiting several Teagasc locations en route.

As part of the series of events, teachers and students across Ireland will visit various agricultural collages and Teagasc research centres, as well as UCD’s Lyon’s Estate and the Irish Farmers Journal Tullamore demonstration farm.

Locations include: Gurteen College; Teagasc Grange Animal & Grassland Research Centre, Co. Meath; the Irish Farmers Journal Demonstration Farm, Tullamore, Co. Offaly; Salesian Agricultural College Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick; Clonakilty Agricultural College; Teagasc Moorepark; Mountbellew Agricultural College; Ballyhaise Agricultural College; UCD Lyons Farm, Co. Kildare; and Kildalton College.

This year’s series of events, launched at the Irish Farmers Journal’s Demonstration Farm in Tullamore, Co. Offaly, will see cross-cutting themes of the agricultural science curriculum, with the addition of a stand dedicated to the Individual Investigative Study (IIS) that is worth 25% of the final grade, where students can talk to Agri Aware Education Officers and seek advice on their projects.

After a successful 2025, where over 4,100 students took part, Agri Aware is looking forward to meeting teachers and students once again on farms where the most modern, up-to-date research, technology, and practices are implemented alongside our event partners and patrons. As part of these events, students will have the unique opportunity to take their classroom learnings to the farmyard and witness real-world applications of the latest agricultural techniques and practices.

Partners in the Agri Aware Farm Walk & Talk Series include Teagasc, the Irish Farmers Journal, the UCD School of Agriculture and, after coming on board this year, the Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board (LOETB).
