Webinar focuses on better nutrition, faster finishing and increasing profitability

Hosted by the Teagasc Future Beef team, the second webinar in the Maximising the Value of Every Weanling webinar series took place on Thursday, 15 October.

Focusing on better nutrition, faster finishing and more profit, the webinar was chaired by chaired Dr. Peter Doyle, Teagasc and featured Dr. Mark McGee, Researcher, Teagasc Grange; Dr. Aisling Claffey, Ruminant Nutritionist, Teagasc; and Sean Power, beef finisher, Co. Kilkenny.

Through the webinar, contributors provided practical tips on how to improve cattle performance and profit this winter.

Attendees gained an insight into matching feeding rates to silage quality; improving daily liveweight gain & reducing cost; getting housing, ventilation and water right; and what works on Sean Power’s finishing farm.
