On this episode of The Signpost Series, which took place on Friday, 3 December, Mark Gibson, Head of Teagasc Outreach & Innovation Department was joined by Pippa Hackett, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Professor Frank O’Mara, Teagasc Director to officially launch Hedgerow Week 2021. Catherine Keena, Countryside Management Specialist Teagasc also discussed planting hedges.
Pippa Hackett, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine officially launched Hedgerow Week 2021, which takes place from 3 -10 December.
Professor Frank O’Mara, Teagasc Director also joined the webinar to welcome the involvement of a wide range of organisations and interested stakeholders to address this important issue.
Catherine Keena, Teagasc Countryside Management Specialist discussed the subject of planting hedges, which is currently being undertaken by farmers in REAP, the NPWS Farm Plan scheme and many EIPs.
A questions and answers session took place at the end of the webinar, which was facilitated by Pat Murphy, Head of Environment Knowledge Transfer Department, Teagasc.
