Virtual Beef Conference 2020 Day 1 – Achieving target performance for weanlings during their first winter

04 December 2020

Type Event Proceeding

The theme for day 1 of the Virtual Beef Conference 2020 focused on achieving target performance for weanlings during their first winter.

Housing is the most expensive period in an animal’s life and the first winter is crucial in the overall lifetime performance of an animal, so farmers cannot afford to get it wrong. Session one of #BeefCon20 was chaired by Michael Slattery of Drummonds Ltd, who has many years of experience within the feed industry. Topics covered included: Optimum growth rate for weanling beef cattle during the winter housing period and the steps farmers can take to improve the performance of beef weanlings over their first winter indoors.
