Áine worked as a Teagasc Forestry Development Officer for Clare and Galway from 2004 to 2012. Until recently, her role in Teagasc focused on education, gaining thirteen years teaching experience in Moutbellew Agricultural College. She is now providing forestry advisory and education support for the Forestry Development Department.
Áine has a keen interest in farm forestry and how woodlands can become an integral part of the whole farm providing revenue, carbon storage and ecosystem services.
Education
Áine started her forestry career with a diploma in Forest Management from Galway Mayo Institute of Technology in 2001 and then graduated from UCD in 2003 with a Bachelor of Agriculture Science (Forestry) degree. She also completed a H. Dip in Higher Education from Waterford Institute of Technology.
