Christian is currently a Forestry Development Officer with Teagasc, where he provides technical and operational support to forest and land owners along with regional Agricultural Development Officers across Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal. The role focuses on the sustainable development of forestry through expert advice, knowledge transfer, and stakeholder engagement.
Prior to joining Teagasc, he worked in the Irish private forestry sector as a regional manager (since 2022), with responsibility for overseeing plantation management. This included the planning and scheduling of all forestry operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
Christian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry Engineering from the National University of La Plata (UNLP), Argentina. He began his professional journey as an independent forest management consultant and tree nursery manager and later served as a professional safety and quality phytosanitary inspector in Santa Cruz, Patagonia, contributing to high standards in forest health and biosecurity.
Christian is a Technical Member of the Society of Irish Foresters and actively engages with ongoing professional development and the promotion of best practices in Irish forestry.
