Oyinlola Ogunpaimo

Post-Doctoral Fellow

Research Interests

Oyinlola is an applied economist specializing in agricultural and environmental economics. As an independent researcher, she is dedicated to addressing critical research gaps and contributing to impactful knowledge dissemination. She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Teagasc, where her work integrates environmental and resource economics with a strong focus on agricultural sustainability. Her expertise lies in analyzing the complex interactions between climate change, gender inequality, generational renewal, and broader farm household economics. Her recent research has focused on carbon sequestration, greenhouse gas (GHG), and ammonia emissions, examining their impacts on livelihoods through time series and panel data analysis to support strategic decision-making. Oyinlola’s research interests span a wide range of areas, including climate change adaptation and mitigation, environmental pollution, food security, income inequality, poverty analysis, migration and remittances, social cohesion, gender dynamics, agricultural infrastructure, land management, and environmental sustainability. Additionally, she has been actively involved in mentoring and stakeholder engagement, strengthening her analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Over the years, she has served as a convener for the UK's Development Studies Association (DSA), where she has been a strong advocate for increasing the representation of Global South members in leadership roles.
