Rajas Shinde

Postdoctoral Researcher – Anaerobic Digestion

Research Interests

Rajas’ research focuses on developing anaerobic digestion (AD)-based biorefinery systems. His PhD work involved exploring alternative uses for grass through a two-phase AD process for the co-production of volatile fatty acids and biogas. This involved laboratory trials, techno-economic evaluation of an AD-based biorefinery models, and stakeholder engagement to support development grass biorefinery value chains in the Irish context.

Currently, as a postdoctoral researcher on the SEAI-DAFM funded EXPAND project, he continues to work on enhancing the value of AD systems through the valorisation of byproducts such as biogenic CO2 and digestate.
