I am a research officer studying emissions from the manure management chain. My academic journey began in 2019 when I graduated from the University of Galway with a Bachelor’s degree in science where I developed a keen interest in anaerobic digestion. In the same year I started my PhD in the University of Galway on the Green Energy Boosting Technology (GEBTech) project, in which I developed and optimized a slurry amendment which reduced storage emissions and which had positive repercussions for downstream anaerobic digestion.
These experiences lead me to develop an even greater interest in emissions from the manure management chain, where they come from, factors that influence their production and most importantly how we can mitigate them! My research interests lie in greenhouse gas and ammonia emissions from manure management for the development of a sustainable farming system.
