Teagasc/UCD Partnership
The National Agricultural Research, Education and Innovation Partnership
UCD and Teagasc have established the National Agricultural Research, Education and Innovation Partnership to enhance their scientific and technical leadership in underpinning the international competitiveness, growth and sustainable development of the agricultural sector in Ireland and to achieve greater efficiencies and effectiveness in the use of State resources supporting agriculture. This initiative resulted from a series of meetings of a Joint Teagasc/UCD Working Party, chaired by Mr Michael Berkery, former General Secretary of the IFA.
The core strategy for the Partnership is the development of a formalized collaborative programme in agricultural education, research and innovation, in consultation with industry. The Partnership will support both industrial and institutional R&D and will streamline technology transfer to the agriculture industry.
The Partnership is governed by a Board, chaired by Mr Michael Berkery.
