Forest Photo Competition Terms & Conditions

Adult & Junior Entrants

Terms & Conditions

  • The adult category is open to those 18 years of age and older only
  • The junior entrant category is open to anyone under 18 years of age with the consent of a parent/guardian
  • Categories are:
    • Trees and Water
    • Trees on the farm
    • Trees and Biodiversity
    • Overall Winner
  • A parent or guardian must have provided consent on the entry form in the junior entrant category
  • The competition organisers will adhere to the Teagasc Child Safeguarding Policy
  • I understand that even if I agree to participate now, I can withdraw at any time by emailing the request to forestphotos@teagasc.ie . I acknowledge and understand that this will not apply to material already published as Teagasc cannot control such material.
  • In the case where third parties appear in the photograph in the entry, I confirm that I have received the consent of those third parties and take full responsibility for this consent.
  • I consent to the use of personal data including name and any personal data in the photograph entry, in Teagasc and the Department of Agriculture Foond and the Marine (DAFM) publicity material and on social media.
  • Teagasc and DAFM reserve the right to display, reproduce or publish, or give permission to display, reproduce or publish any entry without payment for the purposes of future promotion and knowledge transfer. The personal data contained in the entries can be retained by Teagasc and DAFM indefinitely.
  • I understand that any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current Irish Data Protection legislation and will only be disclosed as specified above.
  • I confirm that I am not a professional photographer.
  • I give permission for, Teagasc and the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM), to use my photos I submit for promotional use, including but not limited to social media, websites, and other marketing material.

     

Submission of Photographs

  • One entry per person, per theme.
  • Closing date for all category submission of entries is 5pm 22 August 2025
  • Winners will be announced at the end of August
  • Overall winners of the Junior and Adult Categories will be presented with their prizes at the National Ploughing Championships
  • Entries must be submitted in digital format only
  • No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason
  • The category winners will be selected by a Teagasc/DAFM selection panel and the judges’ decision is final
  • The overall winner photo will be chosen by a public choice

Prizes

The prizes are as follows:

  • There will be one winner of each category, for both adult and junior categories.  One adult entrant will receive a €300 One4All voucher for each category, and one junior entrant will receive a €150 One4All voucher for each category
  • Each category winner will go forward to the overall winner people’s choice award
  • The overall adult winner will receive an additional €300 One4All voucher
  • The overall junior winner will receive an additional €150 One4All voucher
  • The prizes are as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered
  • Teagasc will notify the winners regarding presentation of prizes

Rules of Entering

  • The competition is open to residents of the Republic of Ireland except employees of Teagasc and DAFM, their family members and anyone judging the competition
  • The adult category is open to those 18 years of age and older only
  • The junior entrant category is open to those under 18 years of age with the consent of a parent/guardian
  • The competition is not open to professional photographers
  • Photo entry must be the entrant’s original work, must not be copied and must not infringe on the intellectual property or other rights of any other third party, regardless of country of residence. It is the entrant’s responsibility to clear all aspects of copyright prior to submission. Teagasc reserves the right to disqualify from the competition any entry that infringes on the copyright or other intellectual property rights of third parties and will not be responsible or in any way be liable for any violations of copyright or any other unauthorised use of photos
  • The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into
  • By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions
