Parking & Public Transport

The National Botanic Gardens of Ireland, Glasnevin, D09 VY63

There is limited car parking availability in the Botanic Gardens. Local on-street parking is limited and pay and display is in operation. Students are encouraged to use public transport, cycle or source other parking in the surrounding area.

  • By bus: routes 23, 24, E1 and E2. Routes F1, F2 , F3 and 40D are also a short walk away.
  • Luas: Broadstone Luas stop connects with routes 23, 24, E1 and E2.
  • By train: Drumcondra train station.

Teagasc Food Research Centre, Ashtown, D15 DY05

Parking is provided at this location free of charge to all students. The college does not collect your details for parking.

  • By bus: Dublin Bus 37, 38, 39, 39A, 70 and 120.
  • By train: Ashtown train station.

By train

Drumcondra and Ashtown train stations are both served by routes connected to Dublin Connolly station.

  • Drumcondra station is approx. 20-25 minutes’ walk from the National Botanic Gardens. The station routes connect to the following locations, among others: Sligo, Maynooth, Longford, Mullingar, M3 Parkway, Ashtown, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin Pearse, Hazelhatch and Celbridge.
  • Ashtown station is approx. 10-15 minutes’ walk from the Ashtown campus.

For any other starting points in Dublin, use Transport for Ireland plan your journey where you can find links for Dublin Bus, Luas and DART routes.

Student Support

Each college has an access/disability officer who can assess the learning support requirements of learners with recognised special needs or disabilities. Canteen Facilities

There is a restaurant and student canteen facility in both the Botanic Gardens and Ashtown campus. A Discount for students of 25% is provided to all students that use these facilities. Students will need to present ID card.

Whilst attending the restaurant, please ensure that footwear is clean from mud. Please use the blue foot covers available. These can be found at entry to College building and in restaurant in Botanics and at the entrance of the conference centre in Ashtown.

Course Refunds

Refund of fees can only be requested up to one month from start of college year i.e. start date 30th of August refund is only allowed up to 30th of September.

A student can only be considered for a refund on fee if they have a specific reason such as serious illness.

If you would like to request a refund on fees you must contact in writing via email to John Mulhern (Principal) john.mulhern@teagasc.ie and cc’d to botanic.college@teagasc.ie stating the reason why this refund is needed.

Please note an administration charge will be deducted from Student Refunds of €50 part time component courses at Level 5 or Level 6. For full time Level 5 and Level 6 €100 will be deducted.
