All roads lead to Grange for BEEF2026

All roads lead to Grange for BEEF2026

The BEEF2026 Open Day takes place on Wednesday, July 1 at Teagasc, Grange, Dunsany, County Meath, C15 PW93.

Centred on the theme of ‘Driving Sustainable Performance’, it will feature the latest research and innovation in beef cattle farming. The BEEF2026 Open Day is kindly sponsored by FBD Insurance.

BEEF2026 will showcase systems and technological advances that can be utilised by cattle farmers from across the country, to increase production and drive income in a sustainable way. Information boards and talks on the main topics of interest to cattle farmers will be presented. These will be combined with live demonstrations and interactive sessions focusing on the latest animal and grassland research and technologies of benefit to Irish beef farmers.

Speaking earlier this summer ahead of the event, Teagasc Director, Professor Frank O’Mara said: “The beef sector is extremely important to the national economy and plays a crucial role in generating activity in the rural economy. Cattle farming is critical to rural Ireland, and the grass based, family farm systems used in Ireland provides sustainably produced beef for Irish and international markets.”

Dr Paul Crosson, Teagasc Beef Enterprise Leader, added: “We have seen a seismic shift in beef markets in the past year, and this event will focus on the opportunities that this presents to Irish beef cattle farmers. We must of course remain conscious of the consumer demand for sustainable farm systems so, backed by practical, applied research, the best advice for farmers to drive their businesses forward will be highlighted.”

Head of Drystock Knowledge Transfer in Teagasc, Pearse Kelly added: “The latest suckler beef research along with the trial work on dairy calf to beef will be showcased on the day, so there will be something relevant and of interest for all cattle farmers, irrespective of their production systems.”

“There’ll be technologies to see and interactive discussions on the day. We will also be featuring a number of our major programmes under the Signpost Programme, the Future Beef and DairyBeef 500.”

Additionally, BEEF2026 provides an opportunity to engage with Teagasc Advisors, researchers, specialists and education staff.
