Have your say: What are your thoughts on pollinator conservation in agriculture?
Farmers and those working with the land are invited to share their views and experiences of pollinator conservation in farmland. Fernanda De Oliveira Azevedo and Sarah Larragy, Trinity College Dublin, and Meritxell Grau Butinyac, FarmBioNet Project Manager, and Saorla Kavanagh, FarmBioNet Project Coordinator, tell us how to get involved.
We would like to hear your views and experiences on pollinator conservation in farmland. The insights of people working on and with the land are essential to understanding what works in practice and what can be improved – for farmers and nature alike.
This survey provides an opportunity for you to share your views on pollinator conservation -what is working, what is challenging, and what should happen next. Your input will contribute to future pollinator strategies and ensure that they reflect real-world knowledge and priorities.
We know how busy working in agriculture can be. This survey takes approx. 10 minutes to complete, and all responses are anonymous.

To make pollinator conservation efforts even better, we kindly ask you to spread this survey to fellow farmers to ensure we collect a diverse and representative scope of opinions and experiences across Ireland!
The survey forms part of the EU-funded RestPoll project.
RestPoll (Restoring Pollinator Habitats Across European Agricultural Landscapes Based on Multi-Actor Participatory Approaches) is a Horizon Europe research initiative focused on developing effective, practical strategies to restore pollinator habitats in agricultural landscapes. The project brings together researchers, farmers, advisors, policymakers and other stakeholders across Europe to co-design solutions that enhance pollinator biodiversity while supporting viable farm businesses.
By combining ecological research with farmer knowledge and participatory approaches, RestPoll aims to:
- Identify and test pollinator-friendly habitat measures suited to different farming systems
- Understand socio-economic drivers and barriers to adoption
- Co-create practical, scalable restoration strategies
- Inform EU and national policy development on biodiversity and agriculture
RestPoll is an official collaborator of the Teagasc-led FarmBioNet project, coordinated by Dr Saorla Kavanagh, strengthening links between biodiversity research and on-farm innovation networks.
We greatly appreciate your contribution! Go raibh maith agaibh!
