In December 2025, Teagasc published its annual Situation and Outlook for 2026. At that time, there were no indications that the US/Israel conflict with Iran would emerge during 2026. The conflict has already had, and is expected to continue having, a range of implications for the global economy, including the agricultural sector.
This Mid-Year Assessment, published in July 2026, incorporates developments that occurred during the first half of 2026 and provides a revised assessment of the likely outcomes for the year as a whole.
