Teagasc photo competition: “Celebrating Our Forests”
Introduction
Our forest photo competition, “Celebrating Our Forests”, ran over the months of October and November 2020. “Celebrating Our Forests” was an ideal opportunity to capture and record some of the many benefits provided by well-planned forests.
Competition format
Forests can provide us with wonderful settings to connect with nature in these challenging times. Forests can also be a haven for wildlife and plants. The autumnal tree colours provided an ideal opportunity to capture great views.
The format for the “Celebrating Our Forests” competition was as follows:
- The competition focused on four different forest themes over four consecutive fortnightly periods.
- At the end of each two-week period, the winner for that theme was chosen and received a prize of €250 in vouchers.
- Each winner went forward to a Grand Final on 8 December 2020 when the overall competition winner was chosen, winning an additional €750 in vouchers.
