Australia’s Minister Counsellor, Agriculture, to the EU visits Teagasc

On Tuesday 17th September, Peter Creaser is Australia’s Minister Counsellor, Agriculture, to the EU, visited Teagasc Moorepark. Minister Creaser’s role is to support trade opportunities for Australian Agriculture products. He has worked with the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry for 10 years in Trade and Plant Biosecurity Divisions which included supporting export and market access for the grains sector. During his visit to Moorepark, he met with Karl Richards (Head of Teagasc Climate Centre), Laurence Shalloo (Head of Teagasc Animal and Grassland Research and Innovation Programme), Dr Ben Lahart and Dr Hazel Costigan (methane research), Jonathan Herron (AgNav) and Tom O’Dwyer (Head of Teagasc Signpost Programme).

On Wednesday 18th September, we welcomed Peter to the Teagasc stand at Ploughing 2024 where the Teagasc Climate Centre had a demonstration of auto-chambers to measure soil greenhouse gas emissions and soil carbon sampling.
