Teagasc National Sheep Conference 2026
A new look Teagasc National Sheep Conference took place this year on Thursday, the 18th of June in Ballinasloe. In a change to the format from previous years, the conference was divided into two sessions, blending indoor conference presentations with outdoor practical workshops.

Poster Session & On-farm Workshops
Following the conference session, the event moved to the farm of John Galvin, Co. Roscommon, where refreshments kindly sponsored by Kepak were provided to attendees. A poster session followed from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, highlighting current Teagasc sheep research and providing attendees to interact with the staff working on the various projects.
On-farm Workshops
The second session on the farm commenced at 7pm. This session featured four interactive workshops on highly relevant topics for all sheep farmers namely:
- Grassland Management
- Lameness Control
- Internal Parasite Control, and
- Flock Breeding
