Digging into Solutions: Soils and Carbon Sequestration
Soil carbon and carbon sequestration were the theme of the Teagasc Climate Centre/Signpost Programme display at Ploughing 2024. Over three sunny days in Ratheniska, Co. Laois, Teagasc Climate Researchers and Signpost Advisors met with farmers, teachers, families and many more to demonstrate Teagasc’s research, including how we sample soil and the differences in carbon sequestration between soil types. There was great interest in our auto-chambers, which measure greenhouse gas emissions from soil. James Rambaud, Carbon Emissions & Sequestration Technolgist, explains more in this video: https://x.com/teagasc/status/1836435305668235612.
