Visit Teagasc Forestry at Ireland’s Woodland Show 2026
Ireland’s Woodland Show, celebrating the many benefits of Irish trees and woodlands, takes place at the beautiful Woodstock Gardens & Arboretum, Inistioge, Co. Kilkenny, on Saturday and Sunday, August 29 and 30. The Teagasc stand will feature exhibits and information on forestry advisory services and applied research. FORADVISE – Strengthening Europe’s Forestry Advisory Network
FORADVISE is a Horizon Europe funded project that is bringing together over 30 beneficiaries and stakeholders working to create a Europe-wide forestry advisory network. It seeks to empower the provision of forestry advice through sharing of knowledge, good practices, digital tools, training and peer to peer collaboration. Silvoarable Agroforestry: New Pilot Scheme
Silvoarable is an Agroforestry option where trees are grown with other farm crops such as cereals or fruit and vegetables. Crops are normally grown amongst single or multiple rows of trees, creating a more diverse multi-tiered farming environment. Agroforestry – the forest garden option
As one of a range of actions arising from the Mid-Term review of the Forestry Programme (March 2026), the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) launched a new exciting Agroforestry (pilot) option – the Forest Garden which provides supports for eligible applicants to create new small forest holdings of up to 1 hectare, using forest gardening principles.
