Project title: A Knowledge Transfer Approach to Collaborative Farming Structures for the Dairy Industry

Project description:
This research followed on from a previous MAIS study where the knowledge transfer (KT) requirements of high profit dairy farmers (HPDF) were assessed. The HPDF identified collaborative farming structures as their main KT requirement in the future and this study aimed to further develop the area of collaborative farming structures with the HPDF. Examples of collaborative farming structures include farm partnerships, contract heifer rearing and share farming. This study aimed to establish the future aspirations of the HPDF in terms of collaborative farming structures and to assess the opportunities and challenges that they may face. The study also aimed to develop a collaborative farming structures guide to aid farmer decision making in this area.
